Led by teachers Stacy Beyer and Kate Porter, special education students are operating a coffee business at Moseley Elementary School. The Wild Mustang Coffee Co. helps students build life skills while fostering confidence, responsibility and connection within the school community. Students take orders for K cups, package them in bags decorated by early childhood special education students, then deliver the orders on Friday mornings to staff members throughout the building.

The Moseley Elementary PTA covered the startup costs and supports the Wild Mustang Coffee Co. through volunteering. PTA volunteer Sandy Moore was recently recognized for sewing and embroidering beautiful work aprons for students to wear. To show their appreciation, students created thumbprint art and thank you notes for her.
The coffee business delivered its first orders in March, offering K cups ($1), creamer and sweetener (an additional $1) and disposable cups ($1). School staff members brew their own coffee in PTA-provided Keurig machines. This school-based business is not a fundraiser; Wild Mustang Coffee Co. prices are set to cover the cost of replenishing inventory.
